After finishing highschool in 1996 I joined the military as a paratrooper for a year - a terrific experience for me - and after the military I observed my vocational training as a businessman at a large German mail order company which is where I am working now.

As you may already have guessed I am a collector of video game consoles. I got my first one when I was about fourteen years old, I cannot remember exactly. It was a Nintendo Entertainment System and among the first games that I played were classic hits like Ice Climber, Super Mario Bros and Zelda. I quickly got into video gaming and was very excited when in 1989 Nintendo released the Gameboy. A portable video game system that would allow me to play my favorite games just about anywhere - what a blast!

But the development did not stop there. Until then I had been very Nintendo-minded and I would never have thought of buying a Sega product. That changed completely when Sega came up with their 16 bit console, the Mega Drive. It's awesome graphics and great gaming abilities were a remarkable step forward and I could not get around buying it. Now I already had three video game systems and I decided that I might as well start to collect video game consoles.

Besides video games I am into consumer electronics like home cinema systems, mp3 players and computers (I do not know much about computers though) and also into sports. I like to watch soccer (my team is the HSV), formula 1 racing (any German driver), American football (Hamburg Blue Devils and the NFL in general), ice hockey (especially the Hamburg Freezers) boxing, tennis and a littel bit of basketball and baseball, too.

| My collection |
I am a collector of both portable and home video game consoles using exchangeable games. I am not into Pongs because there are just too many of them out there, you can only play the built-in games and the games are basically always the same. I am also not particularly fond of clones simply because they are usually of minor quality and I just like the real thing, the original consoles.

My collection currently consists of sixty-seven consoles and I am always looking for further models. A list of my consoles will be added some time soon.
